About the challenge
Mountain Madness Hackathon at Simon Fraser University is a high-energy, student-led hackathon that brings together innovators, builders, and creators for an intense weekend of collaboration and creativity. Hosted in the heart of Burnaby Mountain, the event welcomes participants of all backgrounds and skill levels to design, build, and launch impactful projects from scratch.
Over the course of 24 hours, teams form around bold ideas and turn them into working prototypes: ranging from software apps and AI tools to hardware builds and social impact solutions. With access to mentors, workshops, sponsor challenges, and technical resources, participants are supported every step of the way.
Mountain Madness fosters a culture of innovation, learning, and teamwork in a fast-paced, inclusive environment that challenges students to push their limits, explore new technologies, and bring ambitious ideas to life.
